SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING July 14, 2008 The regular meeting of the San Juan County Commission was held at 10:00 A.M. in the Commission Room at Monticello, Utah. Present: Bruce Adams, Chairman Lynn Stevens, Commissioner Dawn Shaw, SCJ Deputy Clerk Absent: Kenneth Maryboy, SJC Vice Chairman Attendees: Cyndi Eldredge, Greg Adams, Bruce Bunker, Marilyn Boynton, Monty Perkins, Charlie DeLorme Cyndi Eldredge - SJC Personnel Cyndi reported to Commissioners that when they originally hired for the mail clerk in the Ec. Development Office it was approved as a "Temporary Part-Time" position. It was advertised and hired as a "Permanent Part-Time" position. She presented a request to have "Temporary" changed to "Permanent" and reflected in the minutes. A motion to approved the request was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Charlie DeLorme - SJC Ec. Development Charlie presented a lease agreement between the Bluff Fire Station and Commnet for signature. Bruce Bunker - SJC Building Inspector Bruce presented one building permit for approval and signature. Blue Mountain Guest Ranch - Hwy 191, A motion to approve the building permit, provided all signatures are in place, was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Monty Perkins - SJC Maintenance Monty presented a procurement request for a LG Electronics 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner from Home Depot in the amount of $499. A motion to approve the request was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. -1- Dawn Shaw - SJC Deputy Clerk Dawn presented two contracts from the Navajo Revitalization Fund for approval and signature. One is for the E-911 System in the amount of $60,000 and one is for non-chapter funds for the Navajo Mountain water line in the amount of $300,000. A motion to approve and sign both contracts was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Dawn presented to procurement requests from Homeland Security. One for two Portable Storage Buildings from Coast to Coast Western in the amount of $6,500 and one for two Toshiba Tablet Computers from Toshiba in the amount of $5187. A motion to approve the requests was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Commission Reports Commissioner Stevens reports that he talked with Donna Singer about the Montezuma Creek Swimming Pool and she stated that the cost of maintaining the pool is just to costly and would like to go ahead with the concept of converting it into a "gym". Commissioner Stevens will be in the County all week. Commissioner Adams attended AOG last week. He plans to attend a Transportation Meeting on Friday and the Oljato Chapter Meeting Sunday.
