SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING March 22, 2010 The regular meeting of the San Juan County Commission was held at 10:00 A.M. in the Commission Room at Monticello, Utah. Present: Bruce Adams, Chairman Kenneth Maryboy, Vice Chair Lynn Stevens, Commissioner Rick Bailey, SJC Administrator Norman L. Johnson, SJC Clerk/Auditor Dawn Shaw, SJC Deputy Clerk Attendees: Marilyn Boynton, Jerry McNeely, Larry and Carla Sorrell, Susan and Charlie DeLorme, Jackie Steele, Stacy Jenkins Howard Randall – SJC Assessor Howard presented a request to have the UAC litigation payment for Centrally Assessed Properties comes from MCAT, which they get billed quarterly for. A motion to approve the request was made by Commissioner Kenneth Maryboy. Commissioner Lynn Stevens seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Norman L. Johnson – SJC Clerk/Auditor Norman reported to Commissioners on this year’s filings for the 2010 Elections. Norman stated all incumbents with the exception of Paul Barr, SJC Treasurer, have filed. Glenis Pearson filed for SJC Treasurer, Andrew Tso filed for SJC Commissioner to run against current Commissioner, Kenneth Maryboy and Rick Eldredge filed for SJC Sheriff running against current Sheriff, Mike Lacy. Norman reported to Commissioners that the auditors will be coming April 26 through April 30, 2010. Rick Bailey – SJC Administrator Rick presented a request to approve all BIA money that is pending for shovel ready projects. A motion to approve the request was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Kenneth Maryboy seconded the motion. None opposed. Commissioner Bruce Adams declared the motion carried. Rick reported that Commnet is trying to work out issues to get cell phone coverage in Monument Valley. Commissioners asked Rick to advertise for the Public Defender Contract and to work on a Resolution to accommodate electronic meetings. Jerry McNeely – SJC Liaison Jerry reported that he has been assigned to the housing authority board in Moab and stated that he plans to attend a Spanish Valley Water and Sewer meeting this week. Commission Reports Commissioner Stevens reported that he attended a Canyon Country Partnership meeting in Green River and a Recapture Trail meeting last week. He plans to attend a health board meeting tomorrow and a client committee meeting Thursday. Commissioner Maryboy reported that he attended a northern caucus meeting Saturday. Commissioner Adams reported that he attended a UCIP meeting and a workshop for Planning and Zoning both on Thursday. This week he plans to be in the County. He asked Rick to re- advertise for the Public Defender position. Open Time and Other Business Charlie DeLorme, SJC Ec.
