SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING July 12, 2010 The regular meeting of the San Juan County Commission was held at 10:00 A.M. in the Commission Room at Monticello, Utah. Present: Bruce Adams, Chairman Lynn Stevens, Commissioner Rick Bailey, SJC Administrator Norman L. Johnson, SJC Clerk/Auditor Dawn Shaw, SJC Deputy Clerk Absent: Kenneth Maryboy, Vice Chair Attendees: Jerry McNeely, Maxine Deeter, Larry Sorrell, Carol Van Steeter, Marilyn Boynton, David Bronson, John Fellmeth, Bob Turri, Nick Sandberg, Walter Bird, Debbie Benally, Charlie DeLorme, Ralph Okerlund A motion to approve the minutes of July 6, 2010 was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Vote unanimous. John Fellmeth – Road Committee John, along with members from the road committee, reported to Commissioners on the road committee coordination with Federal Agencies stating that there is satisfaction in the process. Commissioners stated they would like guidance from the attorney in Idaho before they go further with this. Open Time & Other Business Norman L. Johnson, SJC Clerk/Auditor, reported to Commissioners that BOE will be held August 16 from 4-7 P.M. and August 23 from 1-4 P.M. Jerry McNeely – SJC Liaison Jerry reported to Commissioners on the various things he has been working on including SITLA and Spanish Valley Water and Sewer. He stated that residents in Spanish Valley would like Sunny Acres lane widened. Rick Bailey – SJC Administrator Rick presented a request to award the Gravel Crushing bid to Brown Brothers. A motion to approve the request was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Vote unanimous. Rick presented a procurement request for a tractor and mower from Greenline in the amount of $70,437.38. A motion to approve the procurement request was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Vote unanimous. Rick reported to Commissioners the road project in Aneth is delayed to it coming upon an archeological site. He stated that it could take months or years to rectify. Commission Reports Commissioner Stevens reported that he will be in the County all week. He stated he does have questions for Liz Thomas with SUWA. Commissioner Adams reported that he also plans to be around this week and has a UCIP meeting Wednesday. 11:30 A.M. – Public Hearing A motion to go into public hearing to receive public comment on future requests the CIB was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Vote unanimous. 11:40 A.M. – End Public Hearing A motion to go out of public hearing was made by Commissioner Lynn Stevens. Commissioner Bruce Adams seconded the motion. None opposed. Vote unanimous. After a discussion it was decided that the following would be placed on the CIB List: 1. Monticello and Blanding Remodel 2. Montezuma Creek Ambulance and Equipment 3. Eastland Fire Station Addition 4. EMS Equipment Upgrade with 2-4 going on one application. Adjourn 11:45 A.M.
