Samantha likes her quiet and uneventful life as an art teacher in LaCrosse, Washington, a small farming town that is also pretty calm. When an SUV slams into her classroom and she learns that the driver was shot, her life begins to unwind. Through a series of circumstances Samantha finds herself without identification, credit cards, cash, or an apartment and vehicle. It is an entirely new way of seeing the world. Luckily a stranger befriends her, then others step into the breech. But something isn't right and ghostly fragments of her childhood begin to flash in her mind. As she sets out to put her life back together she finds a convoluted chain of inexplicable events, each of which seems to have her in the crosshairs.

Carrie Stuart Parks has written a fast-paced novel that is adventure and mystery all in one. Although I found the plot improbable it was inventive. Quick and easy and funny in places, Fallout was a good read even with its eye-rolling moments.
