Services and Records
According to Utah Code, 17-23-17(2)(a)(i): “Each land surveyor making
a boundary survey of lands within this state to establish or re-establish a
boundary line or to obtain data for constructing a map or plat showing a
boundary line shall file a map of the survey that meets the requirements of this
section with the county surveyor or designated office within 90 days of the
establishment or re-establishment of a boundary.”
As well as meeting all other requirements of Utah Code, 17-23-17 all records of
survey must be created and submitted to the County Survey Office on mylar and have a minimum size requirement of 18″ x 24″.
Surveys performed that did not require a boundary to be set (eg. oil & gas well
locations, easements, and rights of way) will not be charged a filing fee;
however, the size and material requirements of the plat remain the same. We
encourage the filing of surveys of this type as they generally contain valuable
corner monumentation information.
